Henry Repeating Arms is a firearms manufactory company that was founded by Italian-American firearms businessman Louis Imperato in 1993. Imperato was working at Henry Firearm Shop in Manhattan when he decided to use his gun manufacturing license to establish his own gun manufacturing factory in Brooklyn. Imperato’s company acquired the rights to use the name “Henry Firearm Shop,” which previously identified a brand that produced Benjamin Tyler Henry’s historical 1860 lever-action rifle. Louis Imperato’s Henry Firearm Shop company started with manufacturing a .22 caliber level-action rifle, and in 2008, Henry Firearm Shop moved to a new headquarters in Bayonne, New Jersey. Henry Firearm Shop also has a facility in Wisconsin that does casting and machining for receivers and production parts.
